New world record set for the Firefox browser 3 with more than 8 million downloads in 24 hours. What to carve out a share of Internet Explorer but not in the figurative sense.
For Firefox 3, a world record had been promised. This is now done or almost with more than 8 million downloads made within 24 hours (8 291 010 exactly). It remains now to confirm this record, which was unaware of a precedent so that it appears in the Guinness Book.
At its finest hours between Tuesday and Wednesday, the download rate has reached 14000 copies of Firefox 3 repatriated every minute. Figures relatively impressive probably doped by the enthusiasm too zealous fans of Firefox that they have probably not been content with one copy, but remains to be seen whether these downloads will materialize in installation and final adoption of the Mozilla browser.
To take extra market share in world’s number one web browsing, Internet Explorer, it will have to conquer the heart of new users who tend to make their Firefox browser default, and sometimes habits are well entrenched.
The answer in several months but until Mozilla can always just take a share of the cake of real Internet Explorer, sent by the development team of Microsoft browser. Almost as a custom for the release of Firefox 2 this was such ships with a small word to the same: “Congratulations on the publication! Big kisses from the IE team.” By cons, the cake took on the color and size of the IE logo is immeasurable.
