For the amateurs of operating systems of the free world, Ubuntu is not unknown. A new version should appear soon: Ubuntu Netbook Remix.
Linux uBuntu
Canonical, the commercial corporation of the project Ubuntu, announced that a version for movable, baptized device Ubuntu Netbook Remix, would must go out in the current of this year. This announcement was supported by a demonstration to the parlor Computex of Taiwan of an already version well advanced of this operating system.
Intel Atom Inside
Canonical specifies that Ubuntu Netbook principally Remix is dedicated to the devices that will use the processor Atom of Intel, the one of the last ones of the firm of Santa Clara, of which performances seem tempting all in having an electric reduced consumption. That concerns the portable, but also all the movable devices being able to use this processor. Canonical and Intel work together for that this version of Ubuntu exploits all the capacities of the processor. The usage of based code on the project Moblin shows well the interest of the two parties.

A reworked version Ubuntu Netbook Remix is based on the version Desktop of Ubuntu 8,04, with a reworked interface to adapt itself to the movable devices and offer to the users an intuitive interface. That will translate itself principally by the presence of a promoter of applications in front of to allow the user to attain the principal applications and to start up them very quickly.

This specific development of Canonical shows, maybe, that the world of the free software program does not want to leave Windows (XP, Vista or Movable) to have the put hand on the movable world.
